California American Water announced today that Nina Suetake, a former staff attorney at The Utility Reform Network, will join the company as regulatory counsel, filling a vacancy in its San Francisco office.

“We are looking forward to working with Nina,” said California American Water vice president of legal Sarah Leeper. “Her experience practicing before the California Public Utilities Commission will make her a welcome addition to our office.”

A staff attorney at The Utility Reform Network for 10 years, Suetake acted as lead counsel on behalf of residential customers and often represented customers in complex cases. Suetake began her new role on November 17, 2014. Suetake holds a J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law, where she graduated Cum Laude. She earned her master’s degree in environmental science and management from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
