PENNSYLVANIA AMERICAN WATER LAUNCHES $2.6 MILLION WATER LINE UPGRADE IN LAWRENCE COUNTYMCMURRAY, Pa. (April 1, 2015) - Pennsylvania American Water announced today the start of construction to replace more than four miles of aging water main in Lawrence County to improve service reliability and improve fire protection for residents. The combined cost of these system improvements is approximately $2.6 million.
"Pennsylvania American Water is replacing deteriorating, small-diameter mains that have reached the end of their useful life," said Pennsylvania American Water Northwest Field Operations Manager Mark
Smith. "The new larger diameter mains will improve reliability and flows for firefighting."
Construction is starting to replace aging water main in the following communities:
Wright Avenue
Ellwood City Jofree Street
Koppel Third Avenue
Neshannock
Meadowbrook Drive
Mission Meade Road
Arlington Avenue
Croton Avenue
Portersville Road
South New Castle Morris Street
Union
Moore Avenue
Weather permitting; the company expects to complete pipe installation, service connection tie-ins and final paving restoration by the fall. During construction, customers might experience temporary service interruptions, discolored water and/or lower than normal water pressure.
