PENNSYLVANIA AMERICAN WATER RELEASES WATER QUALITY REPORTS FOR EAST SHORE AND WEST SHORE SYSTEMS

SCRANTON, Pa. (March 3, 2015) - Pennsylvania American Water announced today that results published in the company's 2014 Consumer Confidence Report indicated water quality surpassed regulatory standards in its East Shore and West Shore service areas. "The reports show that we continue to supply water to our customers that is of higher quality than required by state and federal standards," said Paul Zielinski, senior director of water quality and environmental compliance for Pennsylvania American Water. "Our team of water quality and plant operations professionals works hard every day to ensure the highest quality product for our customers. These results are a testament to their dedication."
The annual report is a performance measure of the quality of water supplied by Pennsylvania American Water against the compliance standards established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. The report describes drinking water sources, testing conducted on the water, substances detected, and the levels of those substances. Commonly asked questions and the answers concerning drinking water are also included.
Pennsylvania American Water's Consumer Confidence Reports, which are updated and posted annually, provide information to local customers. The report for the East Shore water system includes Annville, Conewago. Derry, Londonderry, North Annville, North Londonderry, Palmyra, South Annville, South Hanover, South Londonderry and West Hanover.
The report for the West Shore system includes Camp Hill, East Pennsboro, Enola, Fairview, Hampden, Lemoyne, Lower Allen, Newberry, New Cumberland, New Kingstown, Shiremanstown, Silver Spring, Upper Allen and Wormleysburg.
