PENNSYLVANIA AMERICAN WATER TO LAUNCH $420,000 PIPELINE UPGRADE IN WEST NORRITON NORRISTOWN, Pa. (August 21, 2014) - Pennsylvania American Water today announced the start of water main replacement in West Norriton Township to improve service reliability for customers and increase water flows for firefighting. The approximately $420,000 project will replace nearly 2,400 feet of aging pipe that dates back to the 1950s.

Starting next week, crews will install new eight-inch ductile-iron water main along Weber Lane between Galbraith Road and Burnside Avenue, and along Crawford Drive between Weber Lane and Galbraith Road. Construction will take place weekdays between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Traffic restrictions will be in place during work hours, and motorists are urged to find alternate routes.
The company plans to complete water main installation and transfer of customer services by late
November, weather permitting. Final paving restoration is expected by December 2014 or spring 2015.
The latest construction follows pipeline replacement projects completed earlier this summer in East
Norriton Township along Brambling Lane, Stanbridge Street and Briar Lane, at a cost of approximately
$760,000.
During construction, customers might experience temporary service interruptions, discolored water and/or lower than normal water pressure. Crews will work as quickly as possible to shorten the length of these temporary inconveniences. For more information, contact Pennsylvania American Water's customer service center at 1-800-565-7292.
