American Water Works : New Jersey American Water Investing $130,000 in New Water Mains in Linwood

VOORHEES, N.J. (August 16, 2017) - New Jersey American Water will be investing approximately $130,000 for the installation of new water mains in its Linwood service area. The company will be installing approximately 520 feet of new main in these areas, replacing water main that has reached the end of its useful life. The aging water lines will be replaced with ductile iron pipes.

Beginning on August 21, New Jersey American Water's qualified contractor, F.W. Shawl & Son, Inc. will begin working along Morris Avenue and Belhaven Avenue, from Wabash Avenue west to the end of each roadway. Construction is expected to be completed in approximately three weeks with final street restoration being completed in the fall of 2017. New Jersey American Water values the safety of its workers and advises drivers and pedestrians to take caution in the vicinity of work sites.

This investment will continue to improve water service reliability and increase water flows for household consumption and fire protection in this community. This improvement is part of New Jersey American Water's multimillion dollar program to accelerate the renewal of water infrastructure that is reaching the end of its useful life in more than 100 communities across the state.
