PENNSYLVANIA AMERICAN WATER SETS PIPELINE PROJECT IN BRIDGEPORT, UPPER MERION NORRISTOWN, Pa. (June 28, 2016) - Pennsylvania American Water today announced the start of new water main installation in Bridgeport Borough and Upper Merion Township to improve service reliability, prevent water outages and enhance fire protection. The approximately $300,000 project will replace nearly 1,200 feet of aging pipe dating back to the 1900s.

Starting this week, crews will install eight-inch ductile iron pipe along Coates Street and Schuylkill River Road between East 4th Street and Center Street. Weather permitting, the water line project will be completed by the end of July. Final paving restoration is planned for the fall.

Construction is scheduled for weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Traffic restrictions will be in place during construction hours, and motorists are urged to give themselves extra time while traveling through the area or find alternate routes. During construction, customers might experience temporary water service interruptions, discolored water and/or lower than normal water pressure.
