Missouri American Water sends its heartfelt condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of the two Laclede Gas employees who were killed in a shooting on Thursday in St. Louis’ Hamilton Heights neighborhood.

“This is a terrible tragedy, and from the bottom of my heart personally and from all the employees of Missouri American Water, I want to send our deepest sympathies to those impacted by this senseless killing,” said Cheryl Norton, president of Missouri American Water. “Laclede Gas is our brother in the utility industry, and we are here to support Laclede in any way we can. Nothing concerns all of us in the utility industry more than the safety of our employees and customers.”

Missouri American Water had employees working in the area near the shooting, though thankfully none were injured. When word reached the company of the danger, Missouri American Water immediately pulled those employees out of the area.
