AMP Capital has appointed Roopa Murthy as Director and Giles Gray as Associate to its Infrastructure Debt team in London.

Emma Haight-Cheng, who joined the London office as a Director in March 2014, has also been promoted to Principal in recognition of the work she has done to build the European business during the past 12 months.

Ms Murthy has joined AMP Capital from Credit Agricole's Energy and Infrastructure team. She has ten years' experience structuring and arranging finance across international infrastructure transactions.

Mr Gray previously worked in the Corporate Finance (Infrastructure) Advisory team at PricewaterhouseCoopers UK. He has specialist experience advising on project finance deals within the renewables, social infrastructure and transport sectors.

Both Ms Murthy and Mr Gray will be focussed on supporting the investment origination and management capabilities of the Infrastructure Debt team in the European market and will report to Ms Haight-Cheng.

AMP Capital Global Head of Infrastructure Debt Andrew Jones said: "I'm delighted to welcome Roopa Murthy and Giles Gray to AMP Capital and also to promote Emma Haight-Cheng to the senior role in our European team.

"Interest in infrastructure debt continues to grow and we have a strong pipeline of investment opportunities. The depth we now have in our London team means we are even better placed to capitalise on those opportunities for our global clients.

"Our priority this year will be to continue to invest capital raised for Infrastructure Debt Fund II, which was closed to new investors after raising nearly US$1.1 billion plus an additional US$250 million in co-investment pledges last year, and manage the assets of both our debt funds."

The AMP Capital Infrastructure Debt team is located in London, New York and Sydney. The company has been investing in infrastructure debt since 1988 and focuses on defensive, non-cyclical, cash flow-producing assets. Combined, AMP Capital's infrastructure debt funds have raised nearly US$2 billion from investors from around the world during the last four years.
