AMP Capital today announced the retirement of Ella Brown.

Ms Brown will retire in July 2015 following a 26-year career in investment management including four years with AMP Capital. She will then relocate from Sydney back to London.

Joining AMP Capital in 2011 as Head of Fundamental Equities, Ms Brown has been responsible for the management of the Australian Fundamental Equities, New Zealand Equities, Asian Equities, Global Listed Infrastructure and Global Listed Real Estate capabilities in addition to broad responsibilities across all of AMP Capital's Global Equities and Fixed Income division.

AMP Capital Chief Investment Officer and Head of Global Equities and Fixed Income Mark Beardow said that Ms Brown has made a significant contribution to AMP Capital during her time at the company.

"I would like to thank Ella for her tireless focus on delivering outstanding equity capabilities to our clients," he said.

"Under Ella's leadership, our fundamental equity products have delivered excellent investment performance during the last three years and the growth in assets under management over the period has been noteworthy. Ella leaves the firm with many competitive and contemporary equity products on which to grow the business.

"To further build upon the great work Ella has done and to take the equities business forward, we will move all of AMP Capital's equities business under a new Global Head of Equities. This role will further drive our leading equities capabilities for global clients."

AMP Capital has commenced an internal and external recruitment search for the new role. It will have responsibility for Global Listed Infrastructure; Global Listed Real Estate; Australian Fundamental Equities; Multi-Strategy Equities; Environmental, Social and Governance; and Asian Equities, with more than 45 investment professionals across four global locations and accounting for over $40 billion in assets under management.
