  • *1 About Women's Empowerment Principles (WEP)
Launched in 2010, the Women's Empowerment Principles - Equality Means Business, have grown to become the largest business-led gender equality initiative in the world, endorsed by more than 1,100 CEOs from 80 countries. The Principles highlight that empowering women to participate fully in economic life across all sectors and throughout all levels of economic activity is essential to build strong economies; establish more stable and fair societies; achieve internationally agreed goals for development, sustainability, and human rights; improve quality of life for women, men, families and communities; and propel business' operations and goals.

  • *2 About WEPs Gap Analysis Tool
This tool is designed to assist companies in identifying gaps in gender equality and scale up implementation of the WEPs. By answering questionnaires people can recognize the gap between the principle and reality. Both Japanese and German governments are supporting the system, to be completed by March 2017, and two Japanese companies, including ANA HOLDINGS, will join as pilot companies.
