Aneka Tambang Persero Tbk PT : ANTAM Forms Cooperation of Education Program with the Provincial Government of North Maluku

Jakarta, October 19, 2016 - PT ANTAM (Persero) Tbk (ANTAM; ASX - ATM; IDX - ANTM) is pleased to announce the company has formed cooperation with the Provincial Government of North Maluku through a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation Agreement of the Preparation Program for the Prospective Candidates of the Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP) Scholarship. The cooperation ceremony event was attended by Governor of North Maluku, K.H. Abdul Gani Kasuba, Regent of West Halmahera Danny Missi, ANTAM's Human Capital and Corporate Social Responsibility (HC & CSR) Director I Made Surata, Head of Education and Learning Department of the North Maluku Province Imran Yakub, government officials of the North Maluku Province and ANTAM's management.

ANTAM's HC & CSR Director, I Made Surata said:
' ANTAM is committed to improving the education quality of the community living in the surrounding of the operation area. The cooperation with the Government of North Maluku Education and Learning Department on the Preparation Program for the Prospective Candidates of the LPDP scholarship reflects our effort in improving the English language skills of the prospective Master and Doctoral students in the North Maluku region. We hope the program can be maintained as to create brighter educational future for the next generation. '

The MoU and Cooperation Agreement is a follow up to the signing of similar agreements with LPDP on the Development of Human Resources Capability. The agreements with LPDP were signed on August 30, 2016. The cooperation between ANTAM and the North Maluku Provincial Government also involves, in addition to improving English skills, training on leadership, nation building and writing skills. ANTAM expects these training will improve candidate's preparation during the LPDP scholarship selection process.
