ANEVIA : STRENGTHENS ITS CLOUD DVR OFFER WITH DISASTER RECOVERY

Anevia, leading OTT and IPTV software vendor providing innovative multiscreen solutions for TV and Video delivery including live, near live and on demand, is announcing the launch of Disaster Recovery, as part of its Cloud DVR offer.

At the 2016 IBC, Anevia introduced its Cloud DVR offer, which included a storage solution optimizing infrastructure costs thanks to the hyper convergence of Embedded Distributed Storage (EDS). This year, the offer is enriched with Disaster Recovery, which now ensures and guarantees the durability of users' records.

This new innovative Cloud DVR feature allows telecom operators to benefit from a reliable and secure technical architecture. Indeed, the contents are now stored simultaneously on several servers, themselves spread over separate sites.

Thanks to geo-replication and load balancing technologies, Anevia synchronizes the databases of the different clusters. The only information circulating between the two sites is therefore the synchronization information of the record databases. This way, Anevia is able to guarantee the permanent, dual-site storage of the content, which makes it possible to distribute the load between two sites to offer the same content, in addition to ensuring the reliability and the security of the storage.

"At Anevia, we give our customers the ability to guarantee their subscribers they will never lose their content, because the records are stored on two separate, real-time synchronized platforms. Even if an entire storage site broke down, the records would be secure and accessible to the viewer from the second site for life," explains Damien Lucas, CTO and co- founder of Anevia.

Moreover, operators will now be able to distribute the load between the two sites to deliver the same content, allowing them to optimize bandwidth usage and network traffic.

Drawing on 6 years of fruitful partnership, Anevia has already deployed Disaster Recovery with its historic customer in Switzerland, Net+, which it helped through the migration of its IPTV platform to an OTT platform. This migration required Net+ to make sure that no recorded content was lost so as to ensure the continuity of services with their users.
