Anglo American Platinum : Union mine Spud shaft incident

Anglo American Platinum regrets to report a loss of life at the Company's operations. An employee was fatally injured in a conveyor belt related incident at Union mine's Spud shaft on Monday, 24 October 2016.

Anglo American Platinum CEO, Chris Griffith, said; "Our thoughts are with the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased and we are providing support to all involved. An independent and comprehensive process is underway to make sure we fully recognise the circumstances which led to the incident and that we learn from it in order to continue creating a safer work environment for all our employees."
