AngloGold Ashanti : Fatality at Moab Khotsong Mine, Drilling Halted

LONDON--AngloGold Ashanti Ltd., a global gold producer operating in 11 countries, Friday announces a fatal accident yesterday at its Moab Khotsong mine near Orkney and it has now suspended all drilling and blasting operations at the mine, though safety-related activities such as installing support continue.
MAIN FACTS:
-Members of the DMR inspectorate will be carrying out an inspection of the scene of the accident this morning where a driller was hit by ground fall.
-Shares at 0740 GMT down 255 cents, or 0.85%, at 296.46 South African rand, valuing the company at ZAR113.47 billion.
