Genoa, April 14, 2014

Ansaldo STS has published on its website today its fifth edition of the Sustainability Report for the year 2013.

The Sustainability Report 2013 has been drawn up in accordance with the Guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) version 3.1, and also applies some of the important directions of the new G4 guidelines.

This report has been audited (so-called Limited Assurance) by the auditing company KPMG, achieving the highest evaluation level for sustainability reporting and transparency A+ (the 2012 edition evaluation was B+).

The 2013 edition highlights important developments compared with the previous editions, such as (i) an approach to reporting that involves materiality analysis and the direct involvement of stakeholders, (ii) a detailed focus on the Australian business.

The sustainability Committee, which has been operating in Ansaldo STS since 2010 and which defines strategic lines, commitments and plans in these matters, chose to involve its stakeholders in the process of drawing up the Sustainability Report 2013.

With this document, we address all those who come into contact and work with Ansaldo STS on a daily basis: the millions of passengers who travel in safety thanks to our rail and metro technologies".

For the first time, moreover, the company dedicates part of this document to a local business that is highly responsive to issues of sustainability, in a special chapter about to Australia which highlights the best practices and particular characteristics of the important Ansaldo STS local entity.
