Ansaldo STS : Ryoichi Hirayanagi resigns from the office of director of Ansaldo STS

Ansaldo STS (STS.MI) announces that today Mr Ryoichi Hirayanagi resigned from the office of member of the Board of Directors of Ansaldo STS S.p.A., with immediate effect.

In light of the very important and sensitive phase that the Company is facing following the tender offer launched by Hitachi Rail Italy Investments S.r.l., Mr. Ryoichi Hirayanagi has expressed his belief that a physical presence at the Board's meetings of the directors should be granted, to the maximum extent possible, in order to properly discuss and address any matters that the Company shall cope with. Such necessity cannot be fully met, since Mr. Hirayanagi's current place of residence and work is in Tokyo (Japan) and therefore he has not the possibility to ensure an appropriate presence for the performance of his office as director of the Company in this particular period.

We remind that Mr Ryoichi Hirayanagi also held the position of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company.

As of today Mr Ryoichi Hirayanagi does not hold Ansaldo STS' shares.
