AOL, Inc. : AOL Earns Five Nominations and Thirteen Official Honorees in 16th Annual Webby Awards

AOL Inc. received five nominations, as well as thirteen official
honorees, from the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences
(IADAS) for the 16th Annual Webby Awards. The official
announcement was made by the IADAS.
Now in its 16th year, The Webby Awards is the leading international
award honoring excellence on the Internet. The Webby Awards are a
celebration of Internet and pop culture where consumers have the
opportunity to choose their favorite online destinations.
"AOL is home to some of the most powerful brands online, with incredibly
talented teams behind them," said Maureen Sullivan, Chief Marketing
Officer, AOL. "We are honored by our Webby Award nominations because we
know it's an award chosen by the people to represent the best on the

In recognition of the exceptional quality of submissions received, the
IADAS acknowledged outstanding entries as Official Honorees, alongside
Nominees. The Official Honoree distinction is awarded to the top 15% of
all work entered that demonstrates remarkable standards of excellence.

Last year AOL earned a record number of nominations and won in five
categories. TechCrunch
won the Webby Award for Best Business Blog and HuffPost
Business was named the People's Voice Award for the same category, Engadget
was chosen the Webby Award Winner and People's Voice Winner in the
Consumer Electronics category and The
Engadget Show was chosen as the Technology People's Voice Winner in
the Online Film and Video category.
Winners will be honored in New York City at a ceremony in May.
