Apache : recognizes two children of employees for academic excellence

Apache is proud to announce that Scott, son of Steve Williams, Assistant General Counsel and Morgan, daughter of Patti McKee, director of Finance and Investments, Fund For Teachers were chosen as winners in the 2018 Apache Corporation Scholarship Program administered by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

SON OF STEVE WILLIAMS RECEIVES NATIONAL MERIT APACHE CORPORATION SCHOLARSHIP

Scott, who is a recipient of the 2018 National Merit Apache Corporation Scholarship, will graduate in June from Bellaire High School in Houston, Texas. He will attend the University of Texas at Austin in the fall to study astronomy and physics.

'Apache's generosity is greatly appreciated especially since I will have three sons representing UT Longhorns,' said Williams.

He added that Scott is honored to be recognized by Apache with the 2018 Merit Scholarship award and will put it toward the cost of tuition, books and fees for the upcoming year.

Scott is Williams' third son to be a recipient of a National Merit Apache Corporation Scholarship. His brother Martin, who is currently a junior at the University of Texas where he is studying management information systems and English, received the award in 2015. Also, Scott's oldest brother John received the award in 2012. John has since graduated from Rice University with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in sociology. He is now a second-year law student at the University of Texas.

Morgan, who is a recipient of the 2018 Apache Corporation Scholarship, will graduate in May from Episcopal High School in Houston, Texas. She will attend the University of Texas at Austin in the fall to study business.

'Morgan is excited about the scholarship,' said McKee, 'and I am forever grateful to Apache and proud to know that I work at a company that supports higher learning and recognizes exceptional student achievement.'

About the Apache Corporation Scholarship Program
Apache sponsors two scholarships annually through the National Merit Scholarship Program. The annual competition is conducted by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which forms an impartial committee of professionals to select the award recipients and to administer the awards.

Children of Apache employees who qualify as semifinalists nationally and advance to finalist standing are awarded the National Merit Apache Corporation Scholarship. Recipients of the scholarship are among a group of students who are recognized nationally for academic excellence and demonstrate distinguished credentials including a strong combination of abilities, accomplishments and leadership.

Recipients of the Apache Corporation Scholarship are chosen from a select group of children of Apache employees who are recognized for academic excellence and demonstrate distinguished credentials including a strong combination of abilities, accomplishments and leadership.
