DENVER, April 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Hundreds of Apartment Investment and Management Company (Aimco) team members are volunteering their time this week to address critical local needs as part of a national week of community service through the company's Aimco Cares philanthropic program. Every Aimco team member receives 15 hours of paid time annually to give back to the nonprofits of their choosing. Highlights of the Aimco Cares week of service include:

Monday, April 3

Denver - A team worked in partnership with Denver Parks and Recreation to clean up Ruby Hill Park.

South Florida - Aimco's Miami team members rolled up their sleeves to do painting and outdoor maintenance at His House Children's Home in Miami Gardens.

Virginia -A team did cleaning chores at the Heritage Humane Society in Williamsburg.

Tuesday, April 4

Denver - The corporate office will assemble care packages for residents of the Tennyson Center for abused and neglected children.

Wednesday, April 5

Denver - Aimco team members will stock the food pantry for Jewish Family Service, partially with the donations collected during a month-long Aimco Cares food drive. The Aimco Human Resources team will sort and pack donations at the Food Bank of the Rockies.

Boulder - The Aimco team from Eastpointe Apartments in Boulder will lead a team of volunteers to clean up the Greenleaf Park playground in partnership with the Boulder Parks and Recreation Department.

Greenville - One Greenville team will be stocking the food pantry for the North Greenville Crisis Ministry and another team will be baking cookies for families staying at the local Ronald McDonald House.

South Florida - Nearly 30 team members will engage in home repairs, landscaping and painting for senior citizens served by Rebuilding Together in Homestead.

Thursday, April 6

Denver - Team Members from 21 Fitzsimons Apartments in Aurora will be reorganizing the donation storage area for Brent's Place, a temporary home for families whose children are undergoing medical treatment.

Greenville - The Aimco Greenville team will be packing and delivering pet food as part of a new program sponsored by Greenville Meals on Wheels.

Northern California - A team from Aimco will stock the pantry of the Second Harvest Food Bank in San Carlos, San Mateo County.

Maryland - An Aimco team from the greater D.C./Maryland area will be sorting donations for the Manna Food Center in Gaithersburg.

Virginia - Team members will participate in a two-day clean-up of Pocahontas State Park in Chesterfield in conjunction with the Virginia Department of Conservation.

Friday, April 7

Denver - Team members will crochet hats to donate to the Colorado Children's Hospital for the benefit of premature babies.

Southern California - Irvine area team members will help with harvesting and planting at the Incredible Edible Farm which grows fresh produce for use by the Second Harvest Food Bank in Orange County.

Aimco teams across the country also have organized week-long activities in their offices. Denver team members will be designing greeting cards for the Jewish Family Service senior citizen outreach program, collecting clothing for the local Clothes to Kids nonprofit and making blankets for military families attending therapeutic retreats sponsored by Project Sanctuary. Aimco's Chicago area team will be assembling care packages for active duty soldiers served by Operation Support Our Troops and conducting a food drive for the Lamb Fold shelter for women and children. The Greenville team is sponsoring a week-long food drive for the North Greenville Crisis Ministry.
