Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) and University of Phoenix, a subsidiary of Apollo Education Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: APOL), have once again joined forces to deliver opportunities for individuals to pursue their career goals and better prepare for a successful future. This year, 30 full-tuition scholarships will be available to Boys & Girls Club professionals across the country who are seeking to build their skills and knowledge to become more effective leaders within their organizations.

“Any time we can offer opportunities to our professionals to pursue their educational goals while making an impact in the lives of kids who need it most, it’s a win-win,” said Kimberly Boyd, national vice president of Program, Training & Youth Development Services at BGCA. “Thanks to University of Phoenix and our valuable partnership, scholarship recipients will make a lasting impact on BGCA and Clubs around the country. The new skills and abilities professionals will learn will continue to strengthen our organization as they become future leaders in their fields.”

Now in its fourth year, the scholarship program is part of an ever-growing relationship between BGCA and University of Phoenix to provide education and skill-development opportunities for tomorrow’s leaders. This includes the University supporting BGCA in the creation of a unique leadership development framework through projects like BGCA’s Youth of the Year program. This framework will help Club youth develop personal philosophies on leadership that will support their personal, academic and career goals.

“We are proud to continue to work with Boys & Girls Clubs of America as part of our shared dedication to strengthening our communities through education and personal development,” said Pat Gottfried, vice president of Corporate Social Responsibility for Apollo Education Group, parent company of University of Phoenix. “Be it through scholarships or the development of special programs, together we are providing opportunities not only for the future leaders of Boys & Girls Clubs, but the leaders of our communities across the country.”
