The School of Advanced Studies at University of Phoenix, a subsidiary of Apollo Education Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: APOL), today announced that its Journal of Leadership Studies has received the prestigious APEX Award for Publishing in the category of Magazine, Journal and Tabloid Design and Layout. This is the sixth time the University’s Journal has been recognized with an APEX Award.

The Journal of Leadership Studies is a quarterly academic journal produced by Wiley, providing opportunities for researchers to convey recent findings and for practitioners to discuss issues at the forefront of leadership. It synthesizes the best that theory has to offer with the real-world practical experience of tested leaders to impact organizational decision making.

“The Journal of Leadership Studies strives to provide a unique look at leadership theory and practice to promote discussions about how emerging understanding of leadership can improve practice in the field,” said Jeremy Moreland, Ph.D., editor-in-chief for the journal and academic dean for University of Phoenix® School of Advanced Studies. “The School is proud of the work that is featured in the publication and is honored to have been selected to receive the prestigious APEX Award.”

The Journal of Leadership Studies provides multiple perspectives on leadership throughout organizations, fostering dialogue that goes beyond industry-specific contexts, and explores leadership's role in improving organizational practices and, ultimately, human relations. Published material in the Journal of Leadership Studies includes research-based and theoretical articles that address leadership in various social, cultural and organizational contexts.

“This publication provides a platform for idea and theory sharing among practitioners and scholars as well as organizational leaders looking to further their skills and competence,” said Moreland. “Insights into businesses, non-profit organizations, government entities, educational institutions and the healthcare industry provide contributions making the publication a robust and critical tool.”
