University of Phoenix and the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States (EANGUS) We Care for America Foundation have selected two recipients to receive full-tuition scholarships. This is the second year University of Phoenix has offered full-tuition scholarships to either current members or immediate family members of EANGUS, a professional, national organization that represents enlisted men and women in the Army and Air National Guard. Scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to complete either a bachelor’s or master’s degree program at University of Phoenix.

The 2014 University of Phoenix EANGUS Scholarship recipients are:

  • Dustin Ward is a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force assigned to the 190th Air Refueling Wing with the Kansas Air National Guard and is pursuing a Master of Public Administration degree. Ward is the Unit Training Management/Unit Deployment Manager responsible for ensuring deploying service members have met all pre-deployment requirements, including medical, weapons qualifications and other readiness requirements. After finishing his military service, Ward intends to use his degree to gain employment in a leadership position within a government agency to help and care for the people in his community.
  • Meredith Yeverino, an EANGUS spouse, is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree. Yeverino, who was adopted as a child, was raised by her friend’s parents because her adopted parents were unable to meet her needs. By obtaining her degree, Yeverino hopes to use her knowledge to help others in similar situations in her community.

“We are very pleased that two EANGUS affiliated members will be able to take advantage of the generous scholarships from University of Phoenix,” said EANGUS President John Harris. “We look forward to providing additional scholarships in the years ahead as we work with University of Phoenix to ensure that universities continue to offer valuable choices to military members.”

"University of Phoenix is pleased to continue our partnership with EANGUS to offer its members and their families the opportunity to achieve their educational goals," said University of Phoenix Military Relations Vice President retired Army Col. Garland Williams.
