(OTCQB: APDN), (Twitter: @APDN), a biotechnology firm that provides DNA-based authentication and security solutions and services, announced today that the company's security product line had been awarded "Police Preferred Specification" status by Secured by Design, an organization owned by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) in the United Kingdom.

This accreditation licenses APDN to provide its range of crime fighting technologies to UK police and businesses as a "Police Preferred Specification." As a member of Secured by Design, APDN may display the organization's logo.
According to Secured by Design, its "logo and title 'Police Preferred Specification' indicates that a company or a product meets the high standards set by Secured by Design."
Secured by Design focuses on crime prevention of homes and commercial premises and promotes the use of security standards for a wide range of applications and products. The principles have been proven to achieve a reduction of crime risk by up to 75%.
