Arab Bank Recognizes Employee Volunteers for their
Community Service Efforts
13 Dec, 2011
Arab Bank employees were recognized during a ceremony at
its head office recently for their volunteering efforts to
support the local community under the Bank's sustainability
program, Together.
With approximately 540 employees volunteering since the
beginning of the Together program in various activities,
the ceremony was conducted to recognize the five most
active volunteers of each year, the most active volunteer
overall and the most active division. The ceremony
emphasized the main role of employees to achieve Arab
Bank's goal to develop and contribute positively to the
communities in which it operates in line with the Bank's
values of giving and commitment.
Arab Bank, through the Together program, has organized
approximately 60 community initiatives since its launch in
2009, covering the areas of environment, health, poverty
alleviation, orphan support and education, reaching 22,000
individual beneficiaries in the local communities across
Jordan.
Ms. Dina Shoman, Executive Vice President of Branding at
Arab Bank, inaugurated the ceremony thanking all volunteers
for their hard work and dedication towards making their
community a better place. Ms. Shoman said: "It is
important for all of us to focus on volunteering and giving
from our most valuable asset, our time, towards society."
Ms. Shoman added: "Our employees have demonstrated the
power of giving, embodying the values of the Bank on its
journey of success through their hard work and dedication."
The Together program, which is a multi-dimensional approach
to sustainability, is also available for the Bank's
customers to support their community. Arab Bank's customers
have also made significant contributions with approximately
JOD100,000 since the program's launch to the non-profit
organizations participating in Together, which were
generously donated through the Bank's various channels
including Internet Banking (Arabi Online), Telephone
Banking (Hala Arabi), and the Bank's vast network of
branches and ATMs across the Kingdom.
It is also important to mention that customers can support
the Together program's participating non-profit
organizations through the Together Platinum Credit Card as
well, which has a built in mechanism that gives back to the
community.
