ArcelorMittal has been recognised as a premium supplier to the automotive industry, receiving awards from PSA Peugeot Citroën and Dana Reinz for its breakthrough products and service.

The company was named best supplier in global carmaker PSA Peugeot Citroën's "Value Creation" category at its 2015 Best Supplier Awards. The accolade recognises the introduction of ArcelorMittal's Fortiform® family of high-strength steels for cold stamping, which has enabled the carmaker to reuse its existing conventional stamping presses while achieving weight savings of between 10 and 20 percent. Such weight savings are helping carmakers to reach reduction targets for CO2 emissions.

Accepting the award, Philippe Antoine, head of the advanced engineering department for ArcelorMittal Automotive Worldwide, said: "This award recognises ArcelorMittal's ability to bring to market breakthrough technical solutions to meet the global need for sustainable mobility solutions".

"It also recognises the benefit of ArcelorMittal's co-engineering approach where we work closely with carmakers to understand the challenges they face and develop products and solutions to meet those needs".

Since 2011, ArcelorMittal has held the status of Strategic Supplier to PSA Peugeot Citroën, one of the top-ten vehicle manufacturers in the world. The carmaker's Peugeot 308, which features ArcelorMittal steels, was named Car of the Year 2014 in recognition of its efficient design, which is based on an advanced weight-reduction strategy.

ArcelorMittal has also been recognised by Dana Reinz, a tier-one supplier based in Germany, for its quality of products and customer care. ArcelorMittal was one of three suppliers to receive an award at the 2015 supplier summit, and the only steelmaker to be recognised by Dana Reinz, which designs, develops and supplies a full-service range of sealing, shielding and engine cover systems for the global automotive industry.

Michael Fischer, ArcelorMittal's global account manager for international stampers, who collected the award, said: "This is the result of ArcelorMittal's performance in product quality and logistics. Dana Reinz has underlined its willingness to maintain a good relationship with ArcelorMittal for the longer term".
