CHICAGO, June 18, 2015 - At this year's Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Food Expo in Chicago, Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM), will demonstrate how its expanded offerings and unrivaled expertise can help customers develop new products that will increase profits. With its acquisition of both WILD Flavors and Specialty Commodities, Inc. (SCI) last year, ADM has been growing its portfolio to better serve customers' needs for innovative products and solutions. The result is a food business partner with global reach and the capabilities to offer complete food and flavor solutions - a partner dedicated to feeding your food business.

For the first time at a trade show, customers will be able to talk to ADM, WILD Flavors and SCI together in one location as one company. ADM's booth No. 2818 at IFT will showcase the combined strength and reach of these three companies, and customers will be able to learn about the team's capabilities to serve customers on-trend ingredient solutions for innovative product development. Additionally, at booth No. 119, ADM Cocoa will showcase a new cocoa powder developed in response to the demand for natural ingredients, bringing unmatched added value to the market.

"ADM now has the broadest portfolio of ingredients of any company in the marketplace, and we are looking forward to helping new and existing customers learn about ADM's new capabilities and offerings at IFT this year," said Vince Macciocchi, president, WILD Flavors and Specialty Ingredients, which is a new business unit ADM created to focus on value-added ingredients and solutions for customers. "The recent acquisition of WILD Flavors and SCI allows us to offer on-trend food and flavor solutions for virtually every market segment and product category. Consumer demand for healthier, better-tasting and higher-quality foods is increasing, and ADM is now very well-positioned to help our customers fully meet this demand."

Representatives from ADM will be available at booth No. 2818 to discuss the latest trends in food, from purposeful snacking to indulgent proteins, and how ADM's product solutions can meet those needs. Technical teams will share information, sample food items using ADM ingredients and discuss how new offerings, such as natural flavors and colors, can help food manufacturers with on-trend product development. Some of the highlights at booth No. 2818 include the following:

  • Healthier Eating Trends - With high demand for ingredient solutions driven by consumer interest in healthier options, representatives from ADM will be available to talk about products that meet those needs, such as natural and organic products (ancient grains, dehydrated fruits, seeds, etc.) and products that replace gluten.
  • Oil Solutions - Representatives will be available to discuss news and trends pertaining to alternatives to partially hydrogenated oils. ADM's extensive portfolio of oils provides innovative solutions to customer needs, including the recent launch of a non-GMO soybean oil line.
  • Sweetener Solutions -By using ingredients that lower the calorie-count of a product, food manufacturers can capture a consumer segment interested in healthier eating. Representatives will be available to discuss ingredient solutions such as VivaSweet™ sucralose, a new, great tasting, zero-calorie sweetener suitable for use in virtually any food or beverage. VivaSweet blends well with other sweeteners and can be used for a variety of beverage, baking and dairy applications, among others.
  • Nutritional Beverage Trends - On-the-go, nutritional beverages are in demand, and developing options that are both high in protein and great-tasting can be a challenge. Representatives from ADM will be available to discuss solutions such as CLARISOY™, an isolated soy protein. CLARISOY has a clean flavor and smooth mouthfeel, making it ideal to replace dairy proteins in applications such as drinkable yogurts, shakes and smoothies. Customers can also combine CLARISOY with WILD's taste-modifying flavors to ensure there is no soy after-taste in the finished product.
  • Inclusion Solutions - Consumer needs and demands are constantly changing, requiring food manufacturers to alter existing formulations and create new, innovative solutions. Representatives from ADM will be available to address some of the latest consumer trends approaching the market, and how ingredient solutions like Textura™ can help manufacturers diversify offerings. Textura inclusions allow manufacturers to easily add protein, fiber, whole grains and other nutrients to their food products to alter tastes, textures and nutritional value of products.
