Archer Daniels Midland Company : Toepfer Upgrades German 2012 Wheat Output View To 23.18 Million Tons

LONDON--Alfred C. Toepfer International Friday upwardly revised its estimate for Germany's 2012 wheat production by 2.1%, to 23.18 million metric tons, as rainfall helped plant development over recent weeks.
The Hamburg-based trading house, a unit of Archer Daniels Midland Co. (ADM) and French farming cooperative Invivo, said a key growth stage--known as the kernel filling period--was accompanied by generally sufficient water supplies, and that grain development should turn out to be high as a result.
However, frequent rainfall has also interrupted the 2012 harvest many times since it began in the last days of June, Toepfer said, with wheat maturation still having not made much progress in most growing areas.
