03/22/2012Press Release
All sectors of activity now require increasingly
sophisticated cables and pipes. Manufacturers are therefore
continually faced with new production demands as well as
changing safety and durability standards. The Wire trade
fair held in Dusseldorf from March 26th to 30th 2012 will
review current and future state-of-the-art technologies,
while providing a showcase for Arkema's comprehensive range
of specialty resins and organic peroxides specifically
designed for electric and electronic cable manufacture.
Arkema will present its extensive range of functional
polyolefins
(Orevac®,Lotryl®,Lotader® and
Evatane® trade names) used to manufacture all
types of cables whatever their end-application:
halogen-free flame retardant cables compliant with the
latest fire standards in buildings, cars and telephone
networks, medium and high voltage cables, telephone cables,
and photovoltaics cables. These resins also offer excellent
processing characteristics and mechanical properties
(resistance to oil, abrasion and breaking). Furthermore,
Evatane® and Lotryl® copolymers
containing carbon black additives can play the role of
semi-conductor shield.
Arkema will also present its unique range of
Luperox® organic peroxides, which includes
specific Luperox® grades for crosslinking
functional polyolefins and all the other polymers (LDPE,
EPDM) used in the manufacture of medium, high and extra
high voltage cables and in materials for circuit
assemblies. These grades are renowned for their high purity
and their diverse formulations fulfilling a full range of
technical requirements.
