Asahi Kasei Fibers Corp.

Asahi Kasei Fibers will expand its production facilities for Bemberg™ cupro cellulosic fiber in Nobeoka, Miyazaki, Japan.

Bemberg™ is a regenerated cellulose fiber made from cotton linter, the short fibers on cotton seeds. Featuring a smooth feel and moisture absorption/release, it is widely used for the lining of high-quality suits, as well as a wide range of other applications such as outerwear, innerwear, bedding, and sportswear.

In order to meet growing demand in the fields of functional innerwear and Indian traditional garments, production capacity has been increased over the past several years through improvements to the present production facilities. As demand growth is forecasted to continue especially in emerging markets, the decision was made construct a new production facility. With the completion of the new facility, production capacity for Bemberg™ will increase by 10%.

Moving forward, Asahi Kasei Fibers will continue to expand production capacity and enhance the production infrastructure for Bemberg™ in line with additional growth in the global market.
