CEO and FY12 Half Year Results Announcement

Asciano advises that its Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Mr John Mullen, will not attend the Company's HY12 Results briefing as he is currently recovering from serious complications following an injury sustained during the Christmas break. John has undergone surgery and is currently recovering in hospital.
John's return to work date has not yet been determined. In the interim, the day to day
operations continue under the management of the Senior Leadership Team.
Mr Angus
McKay, Chief Financial Officer, will provide a central point of leadership on all corporate matters as required in John's absence.
Asciano's Chairman Mr Malcolm Broomhead said: "The Board has confidence that in John's absence the Company will be ably directed by Angus and the Senior Leadership Team. We wish John a speedy recovery."
Asciano confirms that the Company's FY12 Half Year Results will be released to the Australian Stock Exchange on Wednesday 22 February 2012. The Results Briefing will be held in Sydney and will be broadcast via a live webcast for the benefit of all shareholders.

Angus McKay will lead the briefing, accompanied by David Irwin, Director Pacific National Coal; Chris Keast, Director Pacific National Rail and Alistair Field, Director Container Terminals & Logistics.
