ASM International specializes in designing, producing, and selling equipment for use by semiconductor manufacturers. Net sales break down by family of products as follows:
- assembly and packaging equipment (72.1%): for the matrices made by cutting semiconductor wafers. The group also produces encapsulated semiconductors;
- semiconductor wafers (27.9%): productions and special films used to make wafers of silicon, copper, etc.
Net sales are distributed geographically as follow: Europe (20.7%), Japan (5.9%), Southeast Asia (62%) and the United States (11.4%).
