Release date- 09102017 - HOUSTON - Atwood Oceanics, Inc. (NYSE: ATW) today announced that Atwood shareholders have approved the Agreement and Plan of Merger dated May 29, 2017, which provides for the acquisition by Ensco plc (NYSE: ESV) of all of the outstanding shares of Atwood.
More than 98 percent of votes cast and 70 percent of shares outstanding were voted in favor of the transaction. The companies anticipate the closing of the transaction will occur within one business day, assuming all other customary closing conditions are met.
