AIX passenger numbers achieve growth in November
Australian Infrastructure Fund (AIX) today reported passenger
growth for its airport portfolio for the month ended 30
November 2011.
Overall, AIX-weighted passenger numbers recorded moderate
growth increasing 1.3 percent compared to the previous
corresponding period (pcp). AIX's Australian airports
experienced growth of 1.8 percent on the pcp, with
international traffic climbing 5.2 percent and domestic
traffic increasing by 1.5 percent, supported by strong
domestic growth of 12.6 percent at Perth Airport. AIX's
Australian airports comprised 83.2 percent of the AIX
portfolio by value, as at 30 June 2011.
AIX's German airports achieved solid international numbers
and maintained overall growth, while Athens
Airport experienced continued weakness, reflecting the wider
macro-economic environment in Greece.
AIX Chief Executive Officer, Jeff Pollock, said: "Achieving
relatively solid growth in international passenger numbers in
a difficult global operating environment, reinforces the
benefits of AIX's well constructed and diversified portfolio
of airport assets".
"It is also pleasing to see an improvement in domestic
passenger numbers, supported by another standout
performance at Perth Airport", Mr Pollock added.

comparisons:
