UTair Transports Children to World Children's Winners Games

UTair Aviation provided round trip transportation for Gift of Life Charity Fund patients from Fergana and Krasnoyarsk to the VI World Children's Winners Games, held in Moscow from June 26 to 28, 2015.

The World Children's Winners Games is an international competition for children who have successfully recovered from oncologic diseases. Participants compete in six sport disciplines, including athletics (track and walk with body weight support), swimming, target shooting, chess, table tennis and football. This year 48 teams from 15 countries participated in the Games.

UTair has been helping Gift of Life fly young patients to the Onco-Olympics for several years in a row.

UTair - Passenger Airline President Oleg Semenov emphasized that the airline and the fund share years of successful cooperation. "Since 2008 UTair has provided more than 1,500 children and their parents the opportunity to travel comfortably to medical facilities and back home," said Mr Semenov. "UTair has always been eager to participate in charity projects. Offering special airfares for children and their chaperones is a part of our social responsibility policy making flights from remote Russian regions affordable to those who need them the most."

UTair's ongoing participation in social projects has been recognized many times by the expert community. UTair has been repeatedly ranked among top 100 socially responsible Russian companies by the Political and Economic Communications Agency. Companies on the list are ranked according to responses gathered from 40 prominent experts, including representatives of leading social-economic organizations, consulting agencies, research and media institutions. In 2014 UTair Aviation was awarded with the Made in Russian Regions certificate for its work in supporting the implementation of government programs and socially oriented projects.

The Gift of Life Charity Fund was founded in 2006 by actresses Dina Korzun and Chulpan Khamatova. The Fund is focused on raising financial support for the treatment, cure and rehabilitation of children diagnosed with oncologic and hematologic diseases, providing help to oncologic and hematologic hospitals for children and young adults, drawing public attention to the problems of children with diseases, aiding the development of voluntary blood donation, providing social and psychological help to children with diseases and assisting groups of volunteers working in partnership with children's oncologic hospitals.
