Avnet Technology Solutions, the global IT solutions distribution leader and an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), today announced that it has expanded its distribution agreement with Nutanix, the web-scale converged infrastructure company, to include Mexico. Avnet began distributing Nutanix in 2014, helping the company expand its market presence in Australia, Canada and the U.S. Avnet will now provide its channel partners in Mexico with the Nutanix Virtual Computing Platform, which partners can use to design and develop converged compute and storage infrastructure for virtualized data centers.

“The addition of Nutanix to Avnet’s portfolio in Mexico creates an opportunity for our partners to provide the same design principles and technologies that power some of the world’s largest, most innovative data centers,” said Eduardo Barron, vice president, Avnet Technology Solutions, Latin America and the Caribbean. “We’ve seen incredible interest in this product line from our Mexico partners because of the unique ways it can be used to solve their customers’ business challenges related to data center virtualization, disaster recovery, desktop virtualization, and testing and development. Our partners will also benefit from Avnet’s deep technical and market knowledge to help them efficiently incorporate Nutanix’s innovative Virtual Computing Platform into their solutions.”

Avnet serves as a single-source distributor for building and deploying cost-effective data center solutions using technologies from leading brands, such as Red Hat and VMware®. The Nutanix Virtual Computing Platform will complement this portfolio by offering partners a converged infrastructure option that consolidates the server and storage tiers into a single, integrated appliance. With this platform, Avnet’s partners can now offer their enterprise and government agency customers solutions based on a web-scale architecture, an approach to designing, building and managing data center infrastructure pioneered by web companies and cloud providers such as Google, Amazon and Facebook. End customers will be able to quickly deploy and scale data center infrastructure, reduce the cost and complexity of storage, and integrate the Nutanix platform with legacy components to maximize existing IT investments.

“Avnet is a market leader in converged infrastructure solutions, and they have proven expertise in bringing complex data center solutions to life,” said Fernando Paredes, Mexico country manager, Nutanix. “By leveraging Avnet’s global reach and expertise, Nutanix will expand the resources our channel partners need to rapidly grow sales and increase the speed at which they operate. Since launching Nutanix in Mexico in 2014, we have amassed many customers, including a major federal government agency, a leading healthcare provider and a cloud-services provider. Working with Avnet will help us to accelerate the adoption of hyperconverged infrastructure, creating solutions that exceed IT expectations and are scalable, agile, affordable and uncompromisingly simple.”

Partners can also leverage the Nutanix Virtual Computing Platform to deploy cloud computing capabilities for their customers. These partners will benefit from Avnet CloudReadyTM, the company’s approach to helping the channel community move their customers’ businesses to the cloud, as well as the extensive experience and knowledge base of the Avnet Cloud Solutions and Avnet Services teams. Avnet has proven technical expertise to assess and deliver optimal public, private or hybrid cloud solutions that best suit partners’ and their customers’ needs.

Additionally, Avnet can help partners to design, integrate and assemble computing appliances based on the Nutanix Virtual Computing Platform through its highly experienced converged infrastructure team at the Avnet Global Solutions Center in Chandler, Ariz. These technology experts accelerate partners’ time to deployment and provide them with tested, validated and fully documented converged infrastructure solutions.
