SYDNEY - Avnet Technology Solutions, the global IT solutions distribution leader and an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), has appointed a new team to lead their New Zealand business. Paul Plester has stepped into the role of country manager for New Zealand, with Michael McDermott in the role of solutions sales representative.
Paul joins Avnet with a wealth of experience within the channel, both of a sales and distribution management nature. During his almost 30 years in the IT industry he has guided the successful introduction and growth of many vendors into New Zealand. More recently Paul has gained experience in the New Zealand IT services sector, sharpening his skills around mobility and managed services solutions.
Michael has 23 years' experience in the IT industry in Australia and New Zealand with an extensive background in sales planning, account management and execution. He will be a strong addition to the Avnet team and will manage Avnet's current and prospective partner base within the region. Michael and Paul are based in Auckland and will be focussed on driving value for Avnet's New Zealand partner base.
