Axel Springer is a media group organized around 5 areas of activity:
- operation of digital and audiovisual media (35.5% of net sales): operation of Internet portals, radio stations and TV channels;
- newspapers publishing (34%): local newspapers (Bild, Die Welt, Welt Compact) and regional newspapers (B.Z, Hamburger Abendblatt, Berliner Morgenpost);
- local and regional magazines publishing (13.6%): TV programs guides (Hörzu, TV Digital, Funk UHR), women's magazines (Bild der Frau, Frau von Heute) and information magazines (Auto Bild, Computer Bild, Sport Bild, Rolling Stone, etc.);
- international written press publishing (13.3%): publishing over 130 magazines and 22 daily newspapers;
- other (3.6%).
Net sales break down by revenue source into sale of advertising spaces (53.2%), publications (35.1%), printing services (1.6%) and other (10.1%).
Germany accounts for 64.9% of net sales.
