ROYAL BUILDING PRODUCTS ANNOUNCES RELOCATION OF SURREY, B.C., PVC PIPE FITTINGS FACILITY TO LANGLEY

Royal Building Products today announced that its PVC pipe fittings facility in Surrey, British Columbia, would be relocated approximately 40 kilometers east to Langley, effective October 21, 2013.

The Langley facility will continue to manufacture PVC fittings measuring from ½" (12mm) to 36" (900mm) diameter for all product groups. The new location also will distribute a wide range of moulded and fabricated solutions for municipal, plumbing and electrical markets directly to Royal's customers in western Canada, and it will continue to fabricate custom fittings for customers across Canada.

"Our new location is optimal for manufacturing and storing more than 1,000 fabricated and injection moulded fittings products that Royal supplies," said Lorne Smyth, vice president, business development and marketing for Royal's Pipe and Fittings Solutions business. "This new location, with proximity to the Trans Canada Highway, will provide easier pick-up for customers in the lower mainland of British Columbia as well as easier carrier access for shipments across Canada."

The entire team of manufacturing employees will be relocating to the new facility, ensuring that customers will continue to receive the same high-quality products and support they have received in the past. The administration, customer service and sales teams also will be relocating to Langley.

Royal entered the fabricated fittings market in 1975 in western Canada, initially to serve the municipal market. Electrical, plumbing and industrial fittings were added in 1999 when the operation was acquired by Royal Building Products.
