Axway Accounting Integration Suite Datastore Delivers Data Transparency, and Enables Increased Productivity and Lower Operating Costs

PHOENIX-September 9, 2014 - In an economic environment where financial transparency drives credibility, not complying with regulations can lead to fines and penalties which could have a significant impact on the enterprise, organizations and brands.  Axway (NYSE Euronext: AXW.PA), a market leader in governing the flow of data, today announced that Axway Accounting Integration Suite Datastore 2.1.0, part of the Axway 5 Suite, has achieved Oracle Exadata Optimized status through Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN), demonstrating that Axway Accounting Integration Suite Datastore 2.1.0 has been tested and tuned on Oracle Exadata Database Machine to deliver speed, scalability and reliability to customers.

Having optimized AI Suite Datastore with Oracle Exadata Database Machine and Oracle Linux, Axway is enabling organizations' accounting and financial departments to better govern their flow of accounting data using parallel access methods to accelerate the injection and extraction of data, and store vast amounts of detailed information and achieve fast query results. With AI Suite Datastore, enterprises can enforce end-to-end accounting audit trail delivering data transparency, and enabling increased productivity and lower operating costs.

Reconciliation of data, control of the accounting schemas, audit trail requirements, compliancy with regulations and accounting principles are a consistent struggle for accounting and financial departments. Axway AI Suite provides the business-critical accounting transformation and integration backbone for more than 250 businesses and public sector organizations around the world, including financial services, government, transportation, supply chain and healthcare organizations. This proven solution optimizes standard daily operations, standardizes and enforces accounting policies such as IFRS, US GAAP, IFRS 15, complies with multiple accounting requirements, streamlines period close and reconciliation and improves straight through processing, to supply both management and accounting systems, with all required data.

By enabling simple access to data even after years of storage, this flexible data infrastructure provides organizations with an ideal system for audit trail requirements by storing data based on pre-defined formats and keeping track of their evolution over time.

Axway's achievement of Oracle Exadata Optimized status signifies that Oracle recognizes Axway for developing, testing and tuning AI Suite Datastore on Oracle Exadata Database Machine. This accomplishment is a testament to Axway's ability to deliver the extreme performance and reliability required by Axway customers, including some of the worlds largest financial institutions.

Illustrating the significance of achieving Oracle Exadata Optimized status, AI Suite Datastore on Oracle Exadata Database machine has demonstrated high performance and scalability achieving 8 times faster injection of huge audit trail files (hundreds of millions of elements) within regular production time frames.¹   Audit trail queries were done in seconds with massive volumes of storage, easily satisfying the needs of large customers.  Additionally, Oracle Exadata Database Machine provided 10 times better data compression, meaning that with the same storage capacity, it was possible to have 10x more "online" information. For example, instead of working on a 3 month period, it became possible to work on a 2.5 year period. This type of improvement can help to lower TCO for customers.

"Customers, such as major banks, have been using Accounting Integration Suite to integrate and securely manage integration between back offices and financial and accounting systems. With AI Suite on Oracle Exadata Database Machine, they are now able to comply with audit requirements and audit trails of hundreds of billions of postings, a need which has not been met until now," said Vincent Hochart, vice president, sales and operations, AI Suite, Axway.

"When partners such as Axway leverage the latest technologies of Oracle Exadata Database Machine as the foundation for their applications, they benefit from a complete, integrated and cloud-ready infrastructure that will help them utilize new features and functionality and drive innovation," said David Hicks, vice president, worldwide ISV and OEM alliances, Oracle. "We are pleased to see Axway achieve Oracle Exadata Optimized Ready status as this significant milestone helps equip them to deliver superior value to customers."
