The capital is already benefitting from the sporting and social legacy that Balfour Beatty and the London Youth Games has been building over the past six years and this will be further enhanced during this Olympic year. Tens of thousands of young people in London are to be given wider sporting opportunities in 2012 as the London Youth Games Foundation unveils the biggest competition programme in its 35-year history.

The 2012 Balfour Beatty London Youth Games will include 80 competitions - 20 more than 2011 - enabling thousands more young Londoners to take part in competitive sport.

The 2012 Games will feature 30 sports, over 25 major event days involving youngsters from all 33 London boroughs. It will also host the UK's largest regional disability sports programme and offers volunteering opportunities across the capital.

Balfour Beatty is playing a major role in preparing London for the 2012 Olympics. Our legacy includes the construction of the Aquatics Centre, a 10-year estates and facilities management contract for the Olympic Park and the operation of the stunning new ArcelorMittal Orbit visitor attraction. We are also actively involved in upgrading London's road and rail network.

These achievements, together with our ongoing commitment to the Balfour Beatty London Youth Games, are enabling us to make a significant contribution to the Government's Olympic Legacy goals.
