Balmer Lawrie & Co. Ltd., a Mini Ratna Category - I PSE with diversified business portfolios, has announced the third quarter results as per the accounts adopted for the quarter ending 31 December 2016. The results were approved by the Board in its Meeting held in Kolkata on 13 February 2017. The total income for the third quarter registered a growth of 3.59% quarter on quarter and stood at Rs. 407.51 crores as compared to the same period last year. The Profit Before Tax (PBT) saw a dip of 14.03% and declined to Rs. 42.99 crores for the quarter ended 31 December 2016 as compared to Rs. 50.00 crores for the same quarter last year. Correspondingly, the net profit (PAT) during the quarter decreased by 22.12% to Rs. 26.07 crores compared to Rs. 33.47 crores for the corresponding period last year. The net income for the nine-month period ended 31 December 2016 stood at Rs. 1328.80crores, an increase of 2.44% over Rs. 1297.19crores in the corresponding period last year. PBT for the nine-month period increased by 0.94% to Rs. 145.66crores as compared to Rs. 144.30 crores in the same period last year. 13 February 2017, Kolkata - Balmer Lawrie & Co.
