VERIFICA NEI CONFRONTI DI MEDIOLANUM INTERNATIONAL FUNDS: IL GRUPPO CONFIDA IN UN RAPIDO CHIARIMENTO DELLA POSIZIONE

Il Gruppo Mediolanum comunica che nella giornata odierna la Guardia di Finanza di Milano ha notificato alla società irlandese Mediolanum International Funds Limited un processo verbale di constatazione riguardante la asserita residenza della stessa in Italia relativa agli anni 2010-2016. Le potenziali imposte oggetto di contestazione - al netto delle imposte già versate in Irlanda - ammontano a circa 544 milioni di Euro.

Il Gruppo Mediolanum precisa che la medesima questione e cioè la posizione fiscale di Mediolanum International Funds Limited e i rapporti con le società italiane del gruppo è già stata prima d'ora oggetto di una specifica verifica che ha escluso problemi di residenza fiscale in Italia, limitandosi a rettifiche di natura valutativa concluse nel 2015 con un accordo transattivo e con l'archiviazione in sede penale. Il Gruppo Mediolanum ha già preso contatti con le autorità competenti al fine di fornire tutti gli ulteriori chiarimenti eventualmente necessari per la chiusura della vicenda.

Si precisa inoltre che Mediolanum International Funds Limited opera in Irlanda dal 1997 con una consistente struttura organizzativa composta da dipendenti altamente qualificati dedicati principalmente alle attività di sviluppo e amministrazione di fondi comuni di investimento di diritto irlandese. La società è assoggettata alla vigilanza da parte delle autorità regolamentari irlandesi, che verificano costantemente l'attività svolta dalla stessa e l'adeguatezza della struttura organizzativa ivi localizzata.

AUDIT OF MEDIOLANUM INTERNATIONAL FUNDS:

THE GROUP COUNTS ON A RAPID CLARIFICATION OF THE ISSUE

The Mediolanum Group announces that today the Tax Police of Milan delivered a tax audit report to the Irish company Mediolanum International Funds Limited regarding the alleged residence for tax purposes of the same in Italy relating to the years 2010-2016. The potential taxes under dispute - net of the taxes already paid in Ireland - amount to around € 544 million.

The Mediolanum Group specifies that the same issue, namely the tax position of Mediolanum International Funds Limited and the relations with the Group's Italian companies, was already subject to a dedicated audit in the past, which ruled out any problems relating to its tax residence in Italy and was limited to adjustments of an appraisal nature. The audit was concluded in 2015 with a settlement agreement and the dismissal of any criminal charge.

The Mediolanum Group has already contacted the competent authorities in order to provide any further clarifications that may be necessary to close the issue.

The Mediolanum Group highlights that Mediolanum International Funds Limited has operated in Ireland since 1997 with a fully-fledged organisational structure made up of highly qualified employees whose principal activity is the development and the administration of mutual funds under the Irish law. The company is subject to the supervision of the Irish regulatory authorities, which closely monitor the activity carried out by the company and the adequacy of the organisational structure located in Ireland.
