BBVA Switzerland has presented its new 2015-2017 Strategic Plan in Zurich. The objective of this plan is to maintain BBVA Switzerland's commitment to building a more solid and efficient International private banking business, with ambitious growth targets for the next few years.

The veteran mountain climber Carlos Soria was the event's special guest. The Group's brand ambassador spoke to BBVA employees in Switzerland. He talked about the difficulties he faces on his expeditions, with examples involving the principles BBVA promotes and transmits to its employees: the satisfaction of a job well done, improving everyday, a positive attitude, and the importance of planning and teamwork. Paloma Piqueras, head of BBVA Global Asset Management also attended the event.

"I'm very glad to have contributed my experience as a BBVA ambassador in a country with as many mountains as this one has. I've been given a very warm welcome, and I am very grateful to my BBVA Switzerland colleagues for inviting me", said Carlos Soria.

After the event, the BBVA Switzerland Executive Committee decided to name one of the meeting rooms at the main offices in Zurich after the mountain climber from Avila (Spain). Alfonso Gómez, CEO of BBVA Switzerland, said "Carlos Soria is an example for all of us, and his words have transmitted a motivation and drive that we should always bear in mind. The whole BBVA staff in Switzerland is very proud to have him as our ambassador, and we will closely follow him on his adventures as he takes on his next challenges ".

Carlos Soria is currently preparing for the next BBVA expedition, which will take place in the spring of 2015. The veteran athlete is one of biggest personalities in Spanish sports, as he is renowned for his humble spirit and the mind-boggling goals he sets himself at an unheard of age in International sports, after an amazing year in which he achieved a new milestone by reaching the peak of Kanchenjunga (28,169 ft.) last spring at 75.
