According to a recent survey on Social perception of innovation in Spain by Fundación Cotec and Sigma Dos, 64% of the Spanish labor force feels capable of competing in the increasingly automated and technological labor market.

The study, which analyzes Spaniards' vision of future employment in a market that is expected to be more automated, indicated that age and education are decisive factors for the vision of the future. For example, 76% of those with a higher education feel they are prepared for this future. This number falls to 45% for people with primary education. In terms of age, 73% of those under the age of 30 are confident, while only 55% of those over 45 feel optimistic.

Robots in the market

67% of Spaniards in the Cotec survey feel that many, or a significant amount, of today's jobs will be performed by robots or computers 15 years from now. 52% believe that these jobs will be compensated by the creation of new ones. Meanwhile, 34% of those surveyed think that machines will not only perform routine tasks, but also tasks requiring creativity. 56% believe that technology will increase social inequality and 45% expect it to lower the gap between men and women (this level of confidence drops to 41% for women compared to 50% of men).
