The CEO of Banco Sabadell, Jaime Guardiola, and the Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB), Román Escolano, have signed an agreement today that will enable the institutions they represent to allocate €1 billion to finance the investment projects and working capital needs of both SMEs and mid-cap companies. Each of these institutions will put up half of the funds to provide industrial and service sector enterprises with financing at better interest rates and with more advantageous terms.

This new line of financing that Banco Sabadell has signed with the EIB will benefit SMEs with up to 250 workers and mid-cap companies with staff sizes of no more than 3000 people. Hence, SMEs will individually be able to access a sum of up to €25 million and the mid-cap companies will have access to up to €50 million.

The implementation of this credit line developed by the EIB and Banco Sabadell is a new addition to other lines of more than €2.5 billion that have already been granted with favourable conditions to SMEs, through agreements between the two institutions.
