BCA Helps Finance Soekarno-Hatta Airport Syndication Project to Improve Airport Quality

Jakarta, 20 April 2015 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) consistently performs its intermediation function; this time, it does so in support of Soekarno-Hatta (Soetta) airport train project, through financing its credit syndication. BCA Director Suwignyo Budiman, PT KAI Finance Director Kurniadi Atmosasmito, PT Railink President Director Heru Kuswanto and directors from other banks involved in the provision of credit syndication were present at the agreement signing in Jakarta, (20/4).

"In order to provide the best services to air transport users, PT Angkasa Pura II seeks to improve its facilities through various projects, including constructing a 12 km double-track train line from Soetta to Batu Ceper Station. Construction will be carried out primarily by PT KAI. BCA and three other banks support the project by providing credit syndication, which will hopefully maximize PT Angkasa Pura II and PT KAI's efforts in the development," explained Suwignyo.

The Soetta Airport train line is a realization of Perpres No. 83 Year 2011 on 24 November 2011 regarding the assignment of PT KAI (Persero) to Improve Train Facilities in Soekarno-Hatta and Jakarta-Bogor-Depok-Tangerang-Bekasi Outer Ring Road. The aim of this train development is to improve train services, especially for passengers from Jakarta to the airport, through Tangerang. The train will be operated by PT Railink, a joint corporation between PT KAI and PT Angkasa Pura II.

The Credit Agreement include:

  1. Rp 1.449.096.152.000 (one trillion four hundred forty nine billion ninety six million one hundred and fifty two thousand rupiah) credit syndication between PT KAI and Bank or 84% from total project expenses
  2. Rp 612.000.000.000,- (six hundred and twelve billion rupiah) credit syndication between PT Railink and Bank or 85% of Soetta airport train facilities project expenses

The credit agreement is set to last for 14 (fourteen) months since its signing. "The credit agreement is a form of our commitment to PT KAI in support of their government assignment to develop Soetta train line. With thi Bank syndication agreement, we hope the Soetta Airport train project can be accomplished on schedule," stated PT KAI Finance Director Kurniadi Atmosasmito.

Included in the credit syndication agreement, BCA also provides 25% credit from total loan. "We welcome this credit syndication cooperation. We hope the presence of Soetta Airport train line will help residents to access Soekarno-Hatta airport easier, and help establish the airport to be one of the world-class airports for its domestic and international users," concluded Suwignyo.
