Singapore Management University Students Visit BCA to Learn Indonesian Banking and Economy

Jakarta, 5 May 2015 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), the largest private bank in Indonesia, continues to play its role in improving education quality in an effort to increase human resources quality. Singapore Management University (SMU) selected BCA to be a learning destination for research. Students were welcomed at BCA headquarters by BCA President Director Jahja Setiaatmadja.

"On behalf of BCA, I welcome Singapore Management University students to BCA. It is an honor for us to share our knowledge and experience to everyone. Hopefully, this visit will be beneficial in expanding your horizons beyond the application of your class materials, specifically on Indonesian banking industry and economic conditions," Jahja stated.

In addition to BCA headquarter, SMU students also visited BCA Halo Contact Center in BSD City. During the visit, students learned about Indonesia's economic conditions, banking industry, as well as BCA business model presented by Raymon Yonarto, Head of BCA Financial and Planning Division. The students also learned about the digital banking system developed by BCA, presented by Head of BCA Sales Communication Sub-Division Esther Meliana and Head of BCA Electronic Banking Sub-Division MAtrinus Robert Winata.

"We thank BCA for sharing this knowledge and experience with SMU students. Hopefully, this valuable experience will provide us with the motivation to better prepare for the professional world," remarked Singapore Management University (SMU) Director of Alumni Relations Aik-Meng LOW.

BCA's efforts in increasing the quality of human resources have been implemented through various programs, including soft skill seminars to equip students during university and at work, such as "Effective Presentation and Communication Techniques" seminar held for Universitas Udayana students and support for ITB's art market.

"We hope that all BCA initiated activities involving students can equip them with beneficial skills and knowledge, allowing them to prepare themselves as a professional, competent member of society or innovative entrepreneurs," concluded Jahja.

BCA President Director Jahja Setiaatmadja welcomed Singapore Management University (SMU) at Menara BCA, Jakarta, Tuesday (5/5). In addition to visiting BCA's headquarters, SMU students also visited Halo BCA Contact Center at Wisma Asia BSD. During the visit, students learned about Indonesia's economic conditions and banking industry, as well as BCA's business model. The program is part of BCA's efforts to improve human resource quality through increasing education quality.
