A First in Israeli Banking: Leumi Launches a New Service That Lets Customers Pay Varioius Bills via Smartphone

July 2, 2015

'Pic n' Pay' allows Leumi customers to quickly and easily pay a variety of bills via the Leumi Mobile app, by simply taking a picture of the bill and choosing their preferred payment method.

As part of its ongoing efforts to continually develop groundbreaking digital services, Leumi is now the first bank in Israel to offer its customers a mobile-based bill payment service that works by simply taking a photo of the bill with their smartphone, and paying it directly via the Leumi Mobile app - without needing to manually enter any additional data.

The innovative service supports municipality bills such as property taxes, water and parking bills, as well as payments to the Israel Electric Company and Bezeq.

Until recently, paying bills through the various mobile apps was made possible by entering voucher codes, among other information. Now, with the Leumi Mobile app, it is possible to pay bills quickly and safely, thanks to an advanced scanning technology. Just press the Pic n' Pay button on the app's login screen, take a picture of the bottom part of the bill, click on the credit card you wish to pay with, and confirm the transaction.

At this stage, dozens of municipality bills can be paid via the service, including those of Haifa, Herzliya, Be'er Sheva, Ashdod and more. In the near future, the list of municipalities and types of bills payable through Pic n' Pay, will be expanded.

Pic n' Pay is an additional development by Leumi Digital aimed at improving user experience and enabling customers to perform daily banking transactions anytime, anywhere. The service joins a long list of advanced digital services developed exclusively by Leumi in the Israeli banking system, including 'Mobile Cash Withdrawal', 'Mobile Check Deposit' and 'Instant Balance'.
