This is the second consecutive year in which Leumi's President and CEO appears on the prestigious list. Russak-Aminoach is the only Israeli on the list this year.

Leumi President and CEO, Rakefet Russak-Aminoach, was listed in Fortune Magazine's 'The 100 Most Powerful Women in the World' for 2016. This is the second year in a row that Russak-Aminoach appears on the list, and is the only Israeli representative who made the list this year, ranking 43rd on the International List (outside the US).

Among the reasons for choosing Russak-Aminoach, the magazine noted Leumi's profits in 2015 which totaled NIS 730 million, an increase of 73% compared with the corresponding period last year, as well as a number of moves led by Russak-Aminoach in the past year to address the increasing capital requirements by the Bank of Israel. These included an implementation of a comprehensive efficiency plan that comprised the merger of branches, and the early retirement of 700 Leumi employees by the end of 2016. The magazine also noted Russak-Aminoach's intention to launch a 'fully mobile bank' - PEPPER - by the end of 2016, which will allow Leumi customers to entirely manage their banking activities via their mobile phones.

The CEO of General Motors, Mary Barra, was ranked in the first place on the U.S. list, followed by PepsiCo CEO, Indra Nooyi, and CEO of Lockheed Martin, Marillyn Hewson.

Heading the International List was Chairman of the Spanish Banco Santander, Ana Botin, followed by Chairperson of the State Bank of India, Arundhati Bhattacharya, and CEO of the French energy company Engie, Isabelle Kocher.
