Bank Mandiri Boosts Services by Opening Executive Lounge at Kualanamu Airport
10/31/14

Jakarta, 31 October 2014 - Bank Mandiri has further boosted customer services by opening an executive lounge at Kualanamu Airport in Medan, North Sumatra. The lounge was officially opened by Bank Mandiri Deputy CEO, Riswinandi, on Friday, 31 October 2014.

Kualanamu International Airport is the third airport to be named an international hub in Indonesia after Soekarno Hatta Airport in Jakarta and Ngurah Rai Airport in Denpasar, Bali. It is planned that Kualanamu will be developed as a regional "aerotropolis" that is integrated with two seaports, Belawan Port in Medan and Kuala Tanjung Port in Batu Bara regency, North Sumatra.

With the realization of the "aerotropolis" concept, the airport will become a hub that is equipped by various support facilities, located both within and outside the airport compound, such as offices, accommodation, commercial areas, entertainment centers, high quality education and health facilities, and industrial zones.

According to Riswinandi, the development plan has the potential to turn Kualanamu into a very busy airport. "The opening of this lounge is expected to provide added value to Bank Mandiri credit-card holders and Priority customers travelling through Kualanamu, and make a positive contribution to its development as an international airport," Riswinandi said.

Facilities available in the Mandiri lounge in Kualanamu include luggage storage, a nursery room, internet corner, massage chairs, and a multifunction room that can be used for business meetings.

Bank Mandiri currently operates two "own-brand" Mandiri Executive Lounges - one in Terminal 2F at Soekarno Hatta Airport and the new lounge in the Departures Terminal at Kualanamu. In addition, Bank Mandiri also collaborates with the operators of more than 30 executive lounges in more than 20 airports across Indonesia.
